Postnatal Midwifery Care at your Home in Brussels

The weeks after birth can be exciting, exhausting, and sometimes overwhelming, for mothers and partners alike. My postnatal home visits are there to support you through this time, making sure that both you and your baby are recovering well and thriving. Every family is different, so your care is tailored to your needs and circumstances.

CARE FOR MOM
Each visit includes a thorough check on your own recovery, including:

  • Talking through your labour and birth experience

  • Recovery after a vaginal birth or caesarean section, including wound care

  • Blood pressure monitoring

  • Emotional wellbeing and mental health support

  • Advice on rest, sleep, and postnatal recovery

  • Breastfeeding support

CARE FOR BABY
I'll also check on your baby at every visit, including:

  • Head-to-toe wellness checks

  • Weight monitoring

  • Checking wet and dirty nappies

  • Guthrie heel prick tests

  • Feeding support and advice, whether breastfeeding, bottle feeding, or both

  • Bathing and safe sleep advice

HOW DOES THE SERVICE WORK ?
I always recommend one prenatal consultation to meet in the weeks before your baby arrives. Prenatal consultations (60 minutes) take place at the in-person clinic every Wednesday afternoon, in Etterbeek.

After the birth, your first postnatal visit lasts 90 minutes, at your home. We'll talk through your labour and birth, I'll carry out a full check on you and your baby, and together we'll plan your follow-up visits. These are usually scheduled for around 7 days, 10 days, 2 weeks, and 3 weeks after birth at your home, but the exact number of visits depends on the individual need. The final visit is normally around 4 weeks, at the in-person clinic.

  • Initial In-Person Prenatal Appointment (60 minutes) €70

  • First Postnatal Visit (90 minutes) €100

  • Follow-Up Postnatal Visits (60 minutes) €70

I am INAMI registered and can provide attestations for all services, so you can claim reimbursement through your mutualité or insurance.

I cover Ixelles and Etterbeek, and parts of Schaerbeek, Uccle, Forest, Brussels Centre, Woluwe-Saint-Pierre, Woluwe-Saint-Lambert, Auderghem, and Watermael-Boitsfort. Please include your home address when you get in touch!


I recommend getting in touch during pregnancy so we can plan your care ahead of time, but I'm also happy to hear from you if your baby has already arrived.
